Pediatric Personal Care (PPC) Program – Role Overview

The Pediatric Personal Care Coordinator at PASCO plays a vital role in helping families access and manage in-home personal care services for children with medical needs. This program is designed to provide one-on-one support for children while allowing parents to focus on other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Personal Care Services:

    • Assist families in selecting a provider to help with tasks such as bathing, feeding, hygiene, and other daily living activities.Ensure services are tailored to promote the child’s independence and well-being.

  • Documentation & Eligibility Support:

    • Help families navigate the eligibility process, which requires a physician’s recommendation.Coordinate necessary documentation through Health First Colorado (Medicaid).

  • Provider Management:

    • Ensure providers are trained to perform tasks, demonstrate techniques, or offer reminders to help children stay focused.Monitor service delivery to ensure quality and compliance with Medicaid guidelines.

  • Family Advocacy & Support:

    • Act as a liaison between families and PASCO’s intake and care teams.Provide guidance on accessing additional support if tasks fall outside the standard 17 personal care services.

Important Program Notes

  • Compensation Restrictions: Parents or legal guardians cannot be paid to provide personal care services to their own dependent under this program

  • Scope of Services: The PPC program is not intended for respite care. It focuses strictly on personal care tasks deemed medically necessary.

  • Benefits: Families receive relief and support, enabling them to spend more time on themselves or other family members while ensuring their child receives attentive care.

Job requirements

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bilingual in Spanish (highly preferred)

  • Experience in Case Management or Client Care Coordination – Familiarity with Medicaid, Home Healthcare, or IHSS is a big plus!

  • Customer Service & Relationship Management Skills – At least 2 years of experience in client-facing roles, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.

  • Tech-Savviness – Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

  • Self-Motivation & Adaptability – Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment.

  • Willingness to Travel – Conduct home visits in the Denver metro area to ensure high-quality care.
