POSITION
Personal Caregiver
POSITION DETAILS
As a Personal Caregiver, you will be asked to assist with care including, but not limited to: skin care, transfers (using Hoyer lift), feeding, bladder & bowel care, hygiene, bathing, respiratory care, medication assistance, applying/removing braces, cleaning & maintenance of medical equipment (Hoyer lift, wheelchair), accompaniment for errands or appointments. PASCO Personal Caregivers have the opportunity to build long-term 1:1 relationships with their clients and provide support in-home that allows our clients live independently.
PURPOSE
To provide daily support to a male individual with disabilities assisting with activities of daily living, such as eating, bladder & bowel care, hygiene, cleaning medical equipment, and more. As a Personal Caregiver, you will be asked to provide assistance and care in the morning to get ready for the day, and in the evening to get the client ready for bed. Additionally, provide ongoing, daily care assisting the client with medication assistance, respiratory care, application/removal of braces, and skincare/monitoring of skin. Client is verbal and able to communicate needs. This client currently lives with at home with Mother in Arvada, CO 80004, whom currently provides the care. The client wishes to move out of this home eventually, staying in the Arvada area near family but living independently (seeking a reliable caregiver to assist in this transition). *Location change and environment of the care may change due to this.*
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
- Assist with transfers - client is in a wheelchair and also has a Hoyer lift.
- Skin care - assist in applying over the counter lotions to prevent dry skin.
- Feeding - cut client's food into small bites and set within reach, as well as practice hand hygiene.
- Bladder & Bowel Care - hand client urinal and empty/clean it after use.
- Clean and maintain medical equipment - power wheelchair, hospital bed, shower chair, and Hoyer lift.
- Accompaniment of client when out of home to grocery, doctors appointment, or pharmacy errands (1x/week).
- Bathing - perform a skilled transfer into shower using Hoyer lift.
- Dressings - applying and removing braces on legs, performing hand hygiene.
- Respiratory Care - assist with BiPAP machine/mask, maintain and clean equipment, monitor skin.
Job requirements
POSITION INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current auto insurance
- Prior home health experience (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Punctual and dependable.
- Able to access app on mobile phone for timekeeping.
- Flexibility with a possible change in location of job -- as client wishes to move to live independently (still in Arvada, CO).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Mobility to bend, stoop, kneel, twist at hips.
- Visual and auditory acuity to assess needs and respond promptly.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions given by client
Compensation: $17.00 - $19.54 (weekly paychecks)
Schedule & Location: Sunday evenings to Friday mornings - 7am-9am and 7:30pm-8:30pm in Arvada, CO 80004 at the client's home. 14 hours/week.

- Monday: 7am-9am & 7:30pm-8:30pm
- Tuesday: 7am-9am & 7:30pm-8:30pm
- Wednesday: 7am-9am & 7:30pm-8:30pm
- Thursday: 7am-9am & 7:30pm-8:30pm
- Friday: 7am-9am
- Saturday: OFF
